The Supporting Excellence in Education (SEED)

**Education, community service, and us.**The SEED Foundation fosters a better Indian community in America.

The Supporting Excellence in Education (SEED) Foundation provides greater educational and community service opportunities for young Americans of Indian descent. Started in the Spring of 1998, the Foundation’s activities are promoted by a six-member Board Of Directors, all of whom are young professionals. Among the goals of the Foundation are to:

• Encourage today’s youth to understand both the Indian and American communities that we are a part of and our obligation to them.
• Encourage participation in community service projects that will plant a seed of inspiration, helping youth to grow into responsible adults within their communities.
• Administer a scholarship program to recognize outstanding youth that have made a significant contribution in their community, displayed strong academic performance and demonstrate tremendous leadership potential

The SEED Foundation caters to Asian-Indian youth by providing them with opportunities to assist their communities through the Community Service Program. The Scholarship Program, among other criteria, recognizes outstanding students that have contributed to their communities. The SEED Foundation administers one of the largest scholarship programs run by Asian-Indians for Asian-Indian high school youth. This past year, the SEED Foundation awarded $12,000 in awards to high school students. Every fall, scholarships are available to Asian-Indian high school students. The Foundation is actively searching for young Asian-Indian professionals who are interested in volunteering their time and energies. This is a community-based organization that needs community involvement. There are many different programs for which you can help. Contact information is included below.
